Sports administration is the backbone for the growth and development of the athletes, sports organizations, professional and semi- professional leagues. It provides the necessary impetus for changing the sporting performance of any nation. The love-hate relationship between sports and politics has been a media hot-potato since forever. Due to excessive politicization of sports there has been a detrimental effect to the overall progress of sports in our country. Consequently there is a retrenched resentment in the every Indian sports fan. This article elaborates upon the present system of governance and prospective policy and legislative changes that can be a harbinger of good times for Indian sports.
